i managed to get a job at Four Seasons Singapore for my industry placement! ill be working there for 6 months in rooms division.

The school organises activities on weekends... and this weekend was an indoor pistol shooting activity. And whenever these things take place, there's always a competition... last time for go karting, amanda's team won... this time... I managed to get the highest points. So i got a trophy :) we used 3 different pistols. one 357 revolver, one 9mm semi automatic, and a 45mm. the one that was used as the competition was the revolver. 118 out of 120 :) second place was 115 and third was 114.
its really scary firing real guns with real rounds........... but somewhat thrilling.
the words arent that clear, but it says Marksman indoor Firing Range, Group Shoot - TOP GUN

i had my bar practical exam today.
im happy with the time that i completed the drinks in.
we all had to make a round of 5 drinks:
1 aperitif
1 plain beer
1 mixed beer
1 fancy mixed drink
1 common mixed drink
the round was given on a piece of paper, then we had to memorize the drinks, then we had to start making it when the time started. to just pass, we have to make the 5 drinks, ring it up on the till, get the receipt checked by our lecturer, and go to the outside of the bar to serve the drinks up to the table, then lastly change the dirty ashtray. if the receipt is printed wrongly, we have to do another one... which also counts in the time. oh yes and all this should be done in 7-8 minutes to pass... if its 8:01 minutes then a resit is needed. merit is between 6 and 7 minutes and to score a full score its 5 mins and 20 seconds and under.
alright i was blabbering... but yah... i did well.. and very surprised at the time i did it in. with no mistakes too!!! :)
wanna know my round? i still remember it... haha

from last week, our class started our beverage service and restaurant service part of the course.
Beverage service:
basically working behind the bar, learning how to mix and make drinks with the proper glasses and garnishes, and also learning about the alcohols itself.
Restaurant service:
learning how to set up the restaurant, serving food, carrying plates, taking orders, pouring wine, and other bits and pieces that have to do with restaurants. in order to pass restaurant, we have to work in the school training restaurant, complete a theory test, and also complete two shifts at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
Last night, only after 4 lessons of restaurant, I had to go for my first of the two shifts at the ACC. It was a small banquet. 400 ppl only. my buddy and i were looking after 4 tables, two of which are VIP tables.
the whole night wasnt that bad actually apart from the fact that my 4 tables were the furthest away from the kitchen and the servery, and that i was wearing court shoes the whole night, and that the plates were super duperly hot, and that i burnt myself, and that i wasnt confident cause of so few restaurant lessons..... oh yah one more.... full time staff there get paid $22/hr... so i just did $110 worth of free labour......................
yup... sigh.. well thats all for now....

this weekend was really fun, the four of us went out to watch a comedy on friday, then on saturday we went on a barossa valley tour and then later in the evening we watched the police tattoo (police bands). then when we got back, we (the coucil) organised a party back at school with the theme "dress to impress" so we went for that.. though we didnt dress up

tomorrow ill have my first restaurant service class.. we'll learn how to set up tables, and carry plates.. fun right.. haha
and ill also have to wear my ichm tie for the first time... :)... maybe i should go check on my restaurant service shirts and vest to make sure they're all ironed and crisp... ok i may be lazy to iron them but as long as they look neat then im fine... mwahah
the hygiene exam today was alright..
i got distinction accounting mid exam!
