    Today was my accounting final exam. Not too sure how i did for it... cant do anything now but to keep my fingers crossed.

    Nutrition exam on monday then i'm done with exams!!

    Tonight will be the first of our 3 dinner services. so far we've been doing lunches... and well lets just say dinners are harder.

    Good parts of today:
    i'm headwaiter today, so that means i wont have to take orders or look after designated tables. instead i'll just be seating guests when they arrive, doing a speech, and floating around, helping people, and telling people what they need to do :)

    Bad parts of today:
    accounting exam....
    and i'll be getting my restaurant theory results today.... yikes... i dont know if i should be having a good or bad feeling... sigh... i guess we shall all find out soon enough...................

    alright its been about a week since i last posted. updated news.... i got merit for biz comm.. aparently the hardest exam this year... so that was satisfying... other updates, ill be back home in exactly 14 days!

    i just came back from the restaurant theory exam. it should be quite alright. also i saw my beverage theory exam paper.... ok before i say what i got for it, i was really nervous studying for this, because i had to get at least a 5.00 gpa out of 6 in order to get an overall distinction for beverage. whats the big deal you say? well i got 6.00 for fancy mixed drinks practical, and 5.5 for cocktail practical. so that means for a distinction overall i need at least a 5.00gpa.. correct? (because min. distinction gpa is 5.50)

    so guess what... i got 5.25 for my theory.. which gives me a 5.58 gpa... means DISTINCTION!! happy! =)

    fundamentals of nutrition exam

    7 more days of working in the school restaurant. 4 of which are lunch shifts and 3 dinner shifts.

    3 more weeks till end of school
    3 more weeks till im going home
    3 more weeks till i get to see family and friends in singapore
    3 more weeks till im saying goodbye to my friends here.

    today was our first day in the school's training restaurant. amanda was head waiter, i was in the bar with one other person. it wasnt that interesting being a bartender today... most orders were coke, diet coke, wine, coke, coke and more coke.... BORING... lets have MORE cocktails... i only made a Junko Juice today, as far as cocktails are concerned... hopefully i'll get put behind the bar again on a more busy day. anyway tomorrow i'll be serving food instead. it'll be more busy than today though. today the restaurant only had about 50 ppl. but tomorrow will be way more. hopefully i wont get more than 2 tables to take care of... (kinda impossible... but one can always hope right?)




    i HATE polishing glasses... today we did at least 200 altogether im sure! thats the only bad thing about being behind the bar.

    yesterday was our cocktail practical exam.

    my round this time consisted only of 3 drinks, but time includes collecting the alcohol required for the drinks from the shelf and also returning them back when we were done and washing and drying the cocktail shakers and the blender and the tongs and whatever we used. so basically the station has to look clean before the time is stopped.

    i made
    1 chocolate colada
    1 white lady
    1 sweet martini

    finished in 11 minutes with only 1 mistake, which was a slightly floppy garnish for the white lady.

    i was really nervous. before i started, i was pacing around, and chanting to myself the steps i had to do... so that i can finish as quickly as possible. and while making the drinks, my hands were shaking uncontrollably!!

    anyway i'm really glad i got a distinction. my lecturer was really kind. :)



    ill put pictures of what we normally do in beverage class before we jump behind the bar and practise making drinks soon. *ahem* tasting alcohol!! :)
