"music music music"... yes three very relevant words right now... each word stands for something:
first two: jazz band and symphonic band are starting this week... it'll be my first time in 5 weeks (including holidays) that i'll be going for rehearsals.... and the concert at victoria concert hall is only 4 weeks away... yikes... (oh yeah, unofficially there is another "music", because i'm supposed to go for orchestra... but i'll try procrastinate till 1 or 2 weeks before the concert... haha... cant be bothered to go... hee hee... shh...)
third: my poor little dusty trombone has not been totally neglected cause i have my grade 5 exams coming up... not sure when it is exactly, but i know its sometime in november... eeks... its actually my 3rd music exam i've taken in my whole entire life... yup i only took grades 1 and 3 for piano... haha

For english we're doing "The Handmaid's Tale" and i must say the novel is pretty interesting... i mean talking about colour coded women and all... kinda weird at times... but i'm slowly getting through the book... haha
apparently reine did her presentation on it and doesnt like it...?? oh well...
nothing much to say now... need to carry on with art... sigh...

not many people played badminton this week... the mums didnt play this week cause aunty yushan had to pick zhiwei up from camp and my own mum sent hong an somewhere, so it was me and minli for most of the time... hong an had this gig at some kindergarten... so steph and mum went with him... after that, he came to the court and played for 30 mins with steph... the time when we were playing before they got to the court was pretty tiring cause i've never had the whole court alone for such a long time... and it was hot and stuffy... so we got sticky pretty quickly... yuk... (min and i were working on our fast shots btw... haha... mostly me hitting and she receiving them...)

In order to please John Widder and as an attempt to increase our grade, Cheryl and I went to two art exhibitions yesterday! One was at NUS and one at Art Seasons which is in the business district, near some dodgy pubs.
So our plan was to go to NUS first then go back to school to complete our own art pieces then make our way to Art Seasons.
NUS:
We got to NUS by bus and stopped along Clementi with a vague idea of where the NUS Museums Building is. So we looked at the campus map and couldn't find a building called NUS Museums, so we just looked for something arty and figured it might be in the same area. But no, we ended up at the wrong place and while I was on the phone, Cheryl asked a guy for directions. He was really nice cause he brought us straight there as he was going to somewhere near it anyway. But the building we went to was called the Cultural centre or something like that, and not NUS Museums. That wasn't that bad because we saw some exhibits. (not the one we intended though...)
School:
Going to school to work on art pieces during the holiday isn't very fun, but yesterday wasn't so bad, because the guard who unlocked the room for us wasn't the cranky old one, and there was aircon because it was during school hours on a weekday!
Art Seasons:
Trying to get from school to Art Seasons. We took a bus to an MRT station, then took the train to Raffles station. Not knowing which direction to walk, we asked someone who was standing around for help. He told us something and we got confused and lost, so we decided to ask someone else, and he gave us complicated directions. Singapore being so hot and humid, we almost wanted to take a cab to "Gemmil Lane". But since Cheryl said she had $4 left, we walked there. We finally found the place and enjoyed the lovely aircon there. The stairway there kinda stunk though...
That was our artsy fartsy day!

hey cheryl, can we go before we go into the art room? still meet at 12...but for one of these instead?... so john has one less reason to yell at us...?

i just realised i haven't posted anything in awhile... thats why i'm here talking about my holidays... well... its already the start of the second week of holidays... i can't believe its gone by so quickly... i wish we had more weeks to rest... actually come to think of it, going back to school is not a bad thing... i just hate one subject... take a wild guess what it is... its chem!! i mean the subject is already really sucky as it is and in addition to that we have to have GILLIES.... our chem class is basically a self-taught class... he's only there to shout at us when we dont hand in practical write-ups that he doesn't mark till 1 week later anyway, and to read aloud from the booklet he gives us...and i mean he really READS from it... word for word... i can do that stuff at home on my own... now he's complaining that we havent done enough practical hours and wants us to come in on weekends or lunchtimes to complete them... has it ever occured to him that maybe he isnt organised and didn't let us do enough practicals in the first year of IB? i'm digressing... i was meant to talk about my holidays right? hmm... well so far i've been out with half the chinese dance people to celebrate... that was at k box... oh i met up with audrey... a friend i knew from shanghai who is in st.nicks now... we watched wimbledon... its not bad... and i realised that this is another movie other than spiderman where kirstin dunst calls the main male character "peter"... haha.... moving on, i went into school to work on my art with cheryl who got there too early and kept hurrying me to get there as soon as possible...haha... got two buildings done btw... i'm going in this week again... on wed so that after i'm done i'll go meet lydia for dinner... haha... oh yeah i also went to the queenstown library to borrow some books for art research... thats all i can remember for now... haha... well there's the update on my holidays!!
